How to judge the common causes of salpingitis?

Patient's question:

What are the common complications of salpingitis?

Doctor's answer:

I. Irregular menstruation: Since the fallopian tubes are adjacent to the ovaries, diseases of the fallopian tubes generally do not affect ovarian function or the amount of menstrual flow. Abnormal menstruation only occurs when inflammation affects the ovaries and harms their function, most commonly (menorrhagia) and excessive menstrual flow. This may be the result of pelvic congestion and ovarian dysfunction.
II. Dysmenorrhea: Nine out of ten cases of dysmenorrhea are caused by pelvic congestion, leading to congestive dysmenorrhea. It often begins one week before menstruation, with abdominal pain worsening as the period approaches and continuing until menstruation starts.
III. Infertility: Infertility is caused by the fallopian tubes being invaded, resulting in blockage or adhesion. Secondary infertility is more common.
