Features: In the 21st century, the world has entered the information age with rapid development in science and technology, and people's lives have undergone dramatic changes. To keep the Japanese-Chinese Mini Dictionary in step with social progress, Mr. Zhang Yanfeng, a Japanese editor at Jilin Education Press, proposed the suggestion to revise and expand the dictionary. This aligns perfectly with the editors' long-held idea. To distinguish it from the original book and reflect the modernity and novelty of the Mini Dictionary in terms of word count, content, and layout, it was renamed the New Japanese-Chinese Mini Dictionary.
This dictionary contains over 18,000 entries. To ensure the scientific selection of words, the editors referred to several Japanese dictionaries that annotate common words. These frequently used words were chosen from various perspectives, allowing all common words to be included in the dictionary. Additionally, this dictionary has the following features:
- Concise and accurate definitions
- Short and practical examples
- Fresh and clear format for easy reference
- Word tones are marked, enabling readers to memorize words while mastering their standard pronunciation.
The entries in this dictionary are arranged in the order of the Japanese (Gojūon). Most entries are marked with tones, except for a very small number of words that cannot be found in tone dictionaries, or particles, auxiliary verbs, and connecting words that do not have tones. The examples and translations use Japanese and Chinese punctuation, respectively, but the punctuation after examples marked with an asterisk () is omitted.
At the end of the main text, there are tables for the conjugation of verbs, auxiliary verbs, adjectives, and adjectival verbs, a list of commonly used Japanese characters, and an index for character-based words.
