Patient's question:
What are the treatments for ovarian cysts. What are the treatments for ovarian cysts?Doctor's answer:
Ovarian cysts can be physiological or pathological. Physiological cysts do not require surgery, while pathological cysts often need surgery for definitive diagnosis and additional treatment. For women of reproductive age, if an ovarian cyst is detected, the next course of action depends on the nature of the cyst. Ultrasound results are very helpful for diagnosis. If MRI indicates that the cyst is anechoic (without echoes) and non-segmented, it may be advisable to wait and see for 3 months. After 3 months, a repeat MRI should be performed. If the cyst still exists, surgery should be considered. For all other types of cysts, in most cases, they are pathological and surgery is necessary for definitive diagnosis.
