Features: Brown Tiger Series. I seriously chose to write about Desire to Stop. I dare say that Desire to Stop shows no casualness in its portrayal of Sophie's choice, and Sophie's choice—her resolute decision regarding her attitude towards life and lifestyle—is even more meticulously considered. In other words, even if my novel still contains melancholy that can evoke sadness and distress, it is not subject to anyone's will. The novel is its own self-consistent world. Yes, Sophie's choice is indeed fierce. If possible, I really don't wish for her to resort to mass killing. I truly hope for her to have a happy love life. I earnestly wish for her to have everything go smoothly. But Sophie was born in my mind and is independent of my pen. Her choice is inevitable in her life, rooted only in the conflicts, confusions, and anxieties of her own desires, her struggles in despair and helplessness. Towards this, both she and I are powerless.
