Is it necessary to have a Leep surgery because the cervicitis is approaching moderate severity?

Patient's question:

Cervical erosion is approaching moderate, the doctor recommended LEEP surgery, but my friends all said it's not good to have surgery, use medication to treat, you better have surgery?

Doctor's answer:

The grading method for cervical erosion is based on the size of the eroded area. When the eroded area accounts for 1/3 to 2/3 of the cervical area, it is classified as moderate cervical erosion. Personally, I recommend surgery. For cases with a smaller eroded area and superficial inflammation, medication is more effective. However, for patients with moderate to severe cervical erosion, medication has limited effectiveness, and physical therapy or surgery must be adopted.
