Features: POP advertising, while playing the role of promotion, must also possess a certain aesthetic appeal, serving as a fusion of commerce and art. The illustrations in POP are typically cartoon characters that are easily accepted by the masses, either humorous or exaggerated, with flexible forms. This book focuses on introducing POP from the perspective of daily necessities. The works in the book are presented in the form of hand-drawn posters, featuring diverse styles and varied expressions, hoping to become a helpful guide for learning POP. Among the many forms of POP advertising as sales point advertisements, the hand-drawn POP is the most direct and effective. This book will primarily introduce hand-drawn POP in department stores and supermarkets.
In supermarkets, daily-use goods are closely related to people's lives, with a wide variety of products. Even within the same product category, there are numerous manufacturers and brands, all placed together for consumers to choose freely. In addition to factors such as product packaging, price, and others that contribute to purchase motivation, POP advertising, as a "silent salesman," also plays a crucial role. Daily-use goods are essential for life, and when designers create POP advertisements for such products, they should thoroughly understand the product's characteristics and the merchant's sales strategies. At the same time, they should observe and study competing products in the same category. Then, based on their unique concepts, they should express the most tempting information about the product in the most direct artistic language. For this type of POP advertising, what should be considered is the environment of the sales, thinking from the perspective of a consumer, and placing the visual experience in its proper position.
