Biography of Zhang Xin: From Jiangsu, Zhang Xin was born in Beijing. In 1969, she joined the military, serving as a healthcare worker, nurse, and later a creative member of a cultural troupe. In 1984, she was transferred to civilian life. In 1990, she graduated from the (Peking University Writers' School) and is currently a professional writer at the Guangzhou Literature Creation Research Institute. She is a member of the Central Committee of the All-China Writers' Association and the Vice President of the Guangzhou Writers' Association.
Her major works include the four-volume collection Zhang Xin's Collected Works, as well as the novels Shenxing Dangan (Shining Star File) and Fuhua Beihou (Behind the Glamour).
