Features: The Earth is not so much a legacy left by our ancestors as a loan given to us by our descendants. The Earth can meet human needs, but it cannot satisfy human greed. If humans cannot coexist with other species, they cannot coexist with this planet. Forests are the lungs of the Earth; if the lungs are damaged, the Earth will suffocate. Wetlands are the kidneys of the Earth; if the kidneys are destroyed, the Earth will be unable to expel toxins. Water is the source of life, and cherishing water sources is cherishing our own lives. A happy life is not just about material comforts, but also about clear waters and blue skies. The attitude one holds toward the environment reflects one's quality and upbringing. Saving the Earth starts with the details of daily life. Comrade Hu Jintao, in his speech at the Central Population, Resources, and Environmental Work Symposium, pointed out: We must firmly establish and earnestly implement the people-centered, comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development concept, and effectively prioritize development as the key task of the Party's governance and rejuvenation. Adhering to the people-centered, comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development concept is a major strategic thought we have proposed, guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory and the "Three Represents," based on the overall development of the Party and the nation in the new century and new stage. The scientific development concept summarizes the successful experience of China's reform and opening-up and modernization efforts over the past 20-plus years, draws on the lessons from the development processes of other countries in the world, encapsulates the important insights gained from overcoming the SARS epidemic, reveals the objective laws of economic and social development, and reflects the Party's new understanding of development issues. Comrade Wen Jiabao, in his speech at the closing ceremony of the Special Research Class on "Establishing and Implementing the Scientific Development Concept" for senior leaders at the Central Party School, pointed out: The scientific development concept proposed by our Party, based on the fundamental principles of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, summarizes the experience and lessons learned from development issues at home and abroad, absorbs new achievements in the progress of human civilization, and, from the height of history and the times, further clarifies the major issues of what China should develop, why it should develop, and how it should develop in the new century and new stage. Comrade Zeng Qinghong, in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Special Research Class on "Establishing and Implementing the Scientific Development Concept" for senior leaders at the Central Party School, pointed out: Proposing the scientific development concept is an advancement in our Party's understanding of the laws of economic and social development under the socialist market economy, a leap in our Party's governance philosophy, and holds significant practical and profound historical significance.
