Features: Xiao Bai is a world-famous character in France, extremely beloved by children in Europe. This set of picture book series tells the problems that children encounter in their daily lives through the simple and adorable image of Xiao Bai, a rabbit. The entire book has a clean layout and bright colors. Since its publication, "Xiao Bai" has been translated into multiple languages, including German, English, Japanese, and Korean. This is the first time Xiao Bai has been introduced to mainland China. The ten life-like short stories are experiences that every child goes through during their growth: bedwetting, social interactions, missing Mom, and more. Under the guidance of parents, this book of stories for children allows them to take flight with their imagination, perceiving and touching the life around them. This charming color storybook, through simple yet heartwarming stories, addresses the daily challenges children face, teaching them to care, be friendly, and be brave. It is highly recommended by the renowned children's literature writer, Ph.D., and critic Mei Zihuan, for all "Xiao Bais" and "Da Bais." This book series has been introduced and published in countries and regions such as Italy, Greece, South Korea, Denmark, and Portugal.
Xiao Bai is three years old. He invites three good friends to celebrate his birthday: Pablo, Ma?lie, and César. They play like little crazy ones! After the friends leave, Xiao Bai's party continues.
Xiao Bai is a little rabbit. But we see that he is actually a child. So this series of stories about a little rabbit is, in essence, a story about a child. Children's stories are always everyday and simple: eating is a story, sleeping is a story, being happy is a story, being angry is a story, walking is a story, falling is a story, missing Mom is a story, walking up and down the train corridor is a story, singing "La La La" is a story, and even wetting the bed and pants is a story.
When Xiao Bai wets his pants or the bed, Mom just says, "Oh! There was an accident." Dad is even more relaxed and knowledgeable: "Don't worry, dear. Everyone has gone through this." Me, Mom, Grandpa, and Grandma have all experienced it. The next day at school, Contant also wet the bed during his nap. Xiao Bai comforts him: "Don't worry, Natalee teacher used to wet the bed too." Natalee says, "Yes, when I was little, I also wet the bed." Contant changes his clothes first, and then we play together. Thus, in Xiao Bai's stories, we see the wisdom and composure of the "Da Bais," and how they deeply understand the innocence, naivety, and awkwardness of childhood, appreciating its precious simplicity, mischief, and poetry. Of course, they know that every day of childhood moves toward a certain direction—growing up. Some truths are like road signs, with arrows pointing the way. But they are very skilled in their approach, choosing the right words and tone, which surprises and moves us, almost becoming a form of art! We might all regret that when our Xiao Bais were young, we didn’t have the chance to read such stories and books, so that when we join in their stories, we lack fresh inspiration, and when we guide them with road signs, we are not humorous at all. Otherwise, the feeling of growing up and the joy of reminiscence would be even more delightful, and the brilliance we see in their personalities would certainly be greater!
We think such books are for children to flip through and read, but in fact, they are especially worth adults reading and reflecting on. Adults with children can read these books with their Xiao Bais. The books can be held in the child's hands or the adult's hands. Reading aloud or telling softly works just as well. The children find their own joy and reflections in Xiao Bai's stories, while adults find their own likes and touches. Unexpected inspiration naturally becomes tomorrow's wisdom and composure. In Xiao Bai's future stories, in every story that follows, the ease and fun will still be the same? Many years later, Xiao Bai's memories and your own will also be as bright as the sun, with hearts full of joy.
I’m gradually realizing that for a person, many small things and many big things, in the end, what we truly want are the bright memories left behind. Having them is already wonderful.
These books were translated by my daughter. I read her translations, filled with joy and emotion. She took these French stories and told them to us in Chinese, to many little Chinese children, and to many adults with little children. Her French is excellent. She will soon go to France to study new courses and pursue a higher degree. I’m amazed at how quickly my child has grown. I’ve also always felt guilty and blamed myself for not being a wise and composed father, so concerned about her childhood yet so lacking in inspiration, in ways, and in so much patience. As a result, her childhood didn’t have as much joy as it could have. I’ve always wanted to say to my little rabbit, "Forgive me!"
I believe that because of my recommendation, many children will finally get the joy they seek. Then they will leave behind more bright memories. That would be wonderful!
