Want to know what are the symptoms of salpingitis

Patient's question:

I have been experiencing cramps recently, especially during my period. At first, it wasn't too severe, but later the symptoms became quite severe. After a thorough examination, it was said that I have fallopian tube issues. So, I would like to consult about the symptoms of fallopian tube inflammation.

Doctor's answer:

Salpingitis is primarily caused by pathogenic infections, mainly including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Chlamydia, etc. It is divided into acute salpingitis and chronic salpingitis. Inflammation of the fallopian tubes primarily manifests as lower abdominal pain, fever, increased vaginal discharge, or irregular vaginal bleeding. In severe cases, it can lead to fallopian tube occlusion, with pus accumulating in the tube, forming tubal abscess. Acute recurrent symptoms may include lower abdominal fullness and distension; frequent urination and dysuria; purulent discharge from the vagina; chills, fever, and abdominal pain; as well as constipation or nausea and vomiting. Chronic salpingitis may cause no obvious discomfort, but may be diagnosed during follow-up for primary or secondary infertility.
