How to treat an ovarian cyst

Patient's question:

Right ovarian cyst. How to prevent cysts

Doctor's answer:

Ovarian cysts can be physiological (meaning they are normal fluctuations in the menstrual cycle that can naturally disappear) or pathological (formed due to disease). Physiological cysts do not require surgery, while pathological cysts often need surgery for definitive diagnosis and additional treatment. For women of childbearing age, after discovering an ovarian cyst, the next course of action depends on the nature of the cyst. Ultrasound results are very helpful for diagnosis. If MRI indicates that the cyst is anechoic (without echoes) and non-segmented, it is recommended to wait and see for 3 months, followed by a repeat MRI examination after 3 months.
