How should candidiasis be treated?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, I am 36 years old. A few weeks ago, I went to the hospital for a thorough gynecological examination and found that I had candidiasis. I picked up some medication to use at home, but I feel that it still hasn't had much effect. Therefore, I would like to ask you how to treat candidiasis?

Doctor's answer:

Candidal vulvovaginitis, considered to be a fungal infection, is generally prone to occur. Therefore, treatment should follow a course, typically lasting seven days. Continuous treatment for three months is required. Oral fluconazole can be taken for three days, while local use of baking soda water for rinsing is recommended. If local treatment was not properly recorded previously, Bao Fu Kang suppositories can be used for seven consecutive days. Generally, continuous medication for three menstrual cycles is necessary. During treatment, sexual intercourse should be avoided, and spicy or irritating foods should not be consumed.
For daily treatment of vaginitis, medication is primarily used. Patients can take oral medications along with some vitamins and maintain a regular sleep schedule. Alcohol should be avoided. We hope that vaginitis patients can recover quickly! Thank you!
