Leadership

Features: In the face of economic globalization, for modern Chinese enterprises that have grown up in a highly competitive and uncertain environment, and for those that have been immersed in traditional centralized culture, grasping leadership studies and striving to improve leadership skills hold even greater significance. This book provides 22 cases, including those reflecting American companies as well as foreign enterprises (such as Japanese banks and Indian pharmaceutical companies); some are more macro in scope (like reforms in American companies), while others are more micro (like individual career choices). Most of them are developed from the legal, ethical, and moral issues faced by companies. The book is not very long, yet it is rich in content; some examples are thought-provoking and insightful, offering inspiration. Professor Yang Bin from the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University has recently translated Leadership by American management scholar Richard L. Daft, which has been published by China Machine Press. If these two translations on leadership—both a textbook and a casebook—are combined for teaching purposes, it seems like a great idea.
