Features: A mother's, not flawless Yang Mo, writes the true yet imperfect life of her mother, calling for the return of humanity, motherly love, and family bonds! A mother's authentic life, an accomplished woman writer's inner and outer world, a intellectual's winding journey, and a vivid portrayal of a tumultuous era! Lao Gui, known for writing truthfully in works like Blood-Red Twilight, bravely reveals his mother Yang Mo's real life in this book. It highlights Yang Mo's dedication to the anti-Japanese resistance, her writing of the classic novel Song of Youth, and her later clarity and return to life's essence. It also uncovers the hardships, twists, and secrets behind her success, exposing the less sunny aspects of her life—her struggles, hidden truths, and solitude, her failures, imperfections, and worldly concerns. In the 1980s, when Yang Mo was interviewed by a Guangdong Television reporter, she expressed a desire to write a Rousseau-style memoir in her later years. She said: "I admire Rousseau, I admire his courage to speak the truth. So I also planned to write my own life as boldly as possible, to appear before readers as a real person, rather than always pretending to be flawless like some others. In reality, a person always has many flaws, many things inside that may not be entirely healthy. But due to her advanced age and declining health, her wish was not fulfilled. On the eve of her 10th anniversary of passing away, I put aside other manuscripts and devoted over a year to completing this book, summarizing my mother's life as a way of honoring her. Following her wishes, I tried to objectively record the significant events of her life as I perceived them, and to vividly recreate a real, not flawless Yang Mo. However, due to the passage of time and the limitations of my own perspective, there may inevitably be shortcomings and errors in the facts and opinions presented. I welcome valuable feedback from readers to correct these in future editions. Speaking the truth is difficult, and speaking the truth about one's parents is even harder. A real Yang Mo will live longer in people's hearts than a false one.——Lao Gui
