How come my cervical erosion, which I treated with focused therapy last year, hasn't improved yet?

Patient's question:

I had cervical erosion treated with focused ultrasound last year, but it hasn't improved yet. I had the treatment on November 29th last year, and when I checked in February, the doctor said it was only a little bit at the cervix opening, but now it's May and it still hasn't healed.

Doctor's answer:

Generally, after cervical erosion treatment, complete recovery can be achieved within 1-2 months, and the recovery period for LEEP treatment varies depending on the severity of your condition, with relief possible within a maximum of 2 months. The treatment method you have chosen, which is a modified laser-based approach, may have resulted in poor healing due to insufficient treatment depth at the time, inadequate resolution of the cervical canal, and improper management during the scarring process. If the condition at the cervical os is not severe, medication can be applied to promote scarring. However, if scarring is not properly managed, it may lead to recurrent erosion, and it is recommended to undergo physical therapy again.
