Features: The author of this book, Fujianese young writer Zhong Zhaoyun, introduces that after the full-scale outbreak of the War of Resistance, the Japanese forces occupied Fujian's Jinmen Islands earliest in China, causing the "Lugou Bridge Incident of South China." Subsequently, Xiamen and Fuzhou fell one after another. The vast majority of Taiwanese compatriots were loyal to the motherland, not only initiating relentless literary and military struggles within the occupied territories but also daring to cross the strait to participate in the war, composing a historical narrative of shared hostility to the enemy among compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. According to Zhong Zhaoyun, this book showcases the deeds of Wang Lengzhai, the then magistrate of Wanping County in Fujian, who took the lead in resisting Japanese aggression during the Lugou Bridge Incident. It reveals important historical facts such as the vast number of Taiwanese compatriots risking their lives to cross the strait via Xiamen to participate in the motherland's war of resistance, the assassination and raids carried out by compatriots on both sides of the strait in Xiamen that terrified the Japanese and puppet forces, and Fujian becoming the rear base for welcoming Taiwan's return. The book spans 510,000 words and includes over 100 photographs of the Japanese invasion of Jinmen, Xiamen, Fuzhou, and other areas, many of which are published for the first time.
