Features: This book was conceived at Dublin University in Ireland and largely completed at National Taiwan Normal University. It shares my insights, experiences, confusions, and explorations in translation and translation research. After thirty years of dedication, I hope it will benefit the students of this land of China. I am deeply grateful to my friends and faculty at Dublin University for reopening a window for me to view European education and culture from an Irish perspective that blends emotion and reason. I am also very grateful to my colleagues at the Translation Research Institute of National Taiwan Normal University, especially former College Dean Shi Yuhui, former Director He Huiling, and current Director Zhou Zhongtian, for their support and meticulous care. I am also grateful to my twenty-plus outstanding and eager students, who not only provided excellent perspectives and arguments for my book but also, from the day I arrived in Taiwan, offered the warm enthusiasm and sincerity of Taiwanese people, leaving me deeply moved.
