Features: In The Bird's Nest, all the characters' fates undergo changes to varying degrees due to photography and cameras. Some of these changes are destructive, such as Da He Ma, who becomes a suspect in a murder case after losing his camera and discovering a corpse while searching for it. His life is almost entirely overturned by the camera. The characters Jing Ge portrays move within the liminal space just beyond the boundaries of everyday life, displaying an alternative posture and revealing a truly absurd poetic sense of transcendence. Jing Ge's contribution to contemporary fiction has not been fully recognized by many, but personally, I believe he is one of the rare contemporary writers endowed with a strong sense of humor. This rare and genuine humor guides him in understanding life and helps him establish a unique narrative stance. Behind the words, Jing Ge is essentially a carefree individual, drifting from place to place, yet he is a hunter with plans and patience. His lack of serious focus and his restless gaze enable him to capture the intricate details hidden in the folds of the world and human hearts, while effortlessly avoiding the literary themes that other writers tend to explore. Reading Jing Ge's works, one feels the buzz of a humorous yet sorrowful fly fluttering within the text. Tragic life gradually ascends to respectable life, and a bleak existence quietly transitions into a magnificent one. A group of college students' unconventional love lives, two striking emotional relationships: two men's sincere friendship leads them to love a girl together, transforming desire into a hazy sense of beauty; while two girls' deep affection for each other comes at the cost of sacrificing their love for men, ultimately leading to fatal consequences. The novel's prose is delicate, the story is intricate, the relationships between characters are complex, and the ending is unexpected. It is a new long by the emerging writer Jing Ge, both enjoyable to read and highly artistic in its individuality.
