Is it pelvic inflammatory disease? How is it treated?

Patient's question:

I've been married to my husband for almost a year now. After giving birth to my first child, my menstrual cycle has been irregular. Recently, I've experienced abnormal vaginal discharge with a fishy odor and lower abdominal pain. When I was chatting with a friend, considering my symptoms, I started to suspect that I might have pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). I wanted to ask if my condition could be PID?

Doctor's answer:

You are experiencing abnormal leukorrhea again, along with a sensation of lower abdominal fullness and pain, which is likely caused by pelvic inflammatory disease. It may also be accompanied by inflammation of the vagina or cervix. It is recommended that you visit a gynecology clinic for a thorough examination, including a color Doppler ultrasound, gynecological examination, and leukorrhea routine test. If pelvic inflammatory disease and vaginal inflammation are confirmed, timely treatment should be administered. Oral medication will be used to treat pelvic inflammatory disease, while medication will be inserted into the vagina to treat vaginal inflammation. Regular follow-up tests should also be conducted.
