Criminal Law Basics

Features: The features of this book can be summarized as follows: , it breaks down the barriers between general criminal law and specific criminal law. This book does not separate general criminal law and specific criminal law for separate narration but integrates them as a whole under specific topics. The reason for placing general criminal law and specific criminal law together in the same criminal law is that they are closely related in logical thinking, and in practice, explaining the same topic together is also easier to understand in criminal law. Second, this book does not adopt the form of a systematic book that discusses the criminal law articles in order. This point is particularly evident in the narration of the specific criminal law provisions, as different crime types are used as specific examples to illustrate the basic principles of criminal law. Therefore, the narration of provisions related to property crimes, for example, is basically scattered across different chapters according to different topics. Originally, this book is also a type of theoretical book, and in criminal law, the protection of individual rights and freedom is particularly important. Therefore, when arranging the system, full consideration has been given to systematic thinking. Third, this book is not a reference book for solving daily problems. For various anti-social phenomena that occur in social life, one cannot immediately find corresponding solutions based on this book. Of course, based on the criminal law principles and principles presented in this book, to some extent, one can arrive at one's own insights for phenomena or situations referred to as crimes. This book is more of a read that encourages thinking about criminal law than a read that requires memorizing criminal law knowledge. Finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the editorial committee members who included this book in the "Junior Law Double Book" series, to President Abe Koichi of Seishun Publishing Company for readily agreeing to publish this book, to Editor-in-Chief Tsuchiko Sannoh, and to Editor Koma Ryoichi, who tirelessly assisted in the editing process, and to Suzuki Yudai, a graduate student at Waseda University Graduate School, who helped create the index.
