Features: The second issue of China Review was published in April 2005, leaving a certain impression and influence among scholars. It pioneered the advocacy of "strict academic standards and the establishment of an academic evaluation system." Now, the purpose of the second issue of China Review remains the same: to construct the Chinese academic tradition, establish an academic criticism system, and uphold strict academic standards. The main content includes: first, exploring the issue of Chinese academic standardization by taking the knowledge production activity itself as the object of evaluation; second, reviewing cutting-edge achievements in the social sciences to anticipate responses and self-development from Chinese academia. China Review is tentatively set up with the following columns: Review of Special Topics / Academic Book Reviews / Reflections and Critiques of the Knowledge Production Machine / Academic Commentary / Brief Introduction to Chinese Works / Brief Introduction to Western Works / Prefaces and Postfaces / Recommended Reading. Additionally, new columns such as "Criticism and Response" and "Focus Discussions" will be added according to specific needs, with the aim of making China Review even better. The publication of this book is a necessary step to promote the in-depth development of the "Chinese academic standardization movement." It provides a high-level platform for book reviews that are of significant importance to knowledge incrementation and are conducted from a critical perspective. Moreover, it offers a free academic field for reflections and critiques of the knowledge production machine, which is involved in the production and reproduction of knowledge.
