Was that bleeding an ectopic pregnancy?

Patient's question:

I'm bleeding but it doesn't seem to be flowing down. It's different from my usual menstrual experience. Is this a symptom of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

First, ectopic pregnancy requires an early pregnancy test showing weakly positive or positive results, and there must be a mass in the adnexa area detected by ultrasound, or a blood test showing that HCG does not double. It cannot be diagnosed solely based on symptoms of bleeding. According to your description, none of the items indicate ectopic pregnancy, so it is still recommended that you focus on careful observation and do not worry too much. If necessary, a thorough ultrasound examination may be required. You mentioned using condoms during intercourse, and if there are no unexpected issues, breastfeeding will still be very effective. Occasional menstrual irregularities are also very likely to reappear. It is advised to relax and not overthink it.
