Features: Among primary and secondary school students in China, many enjoy mathematics, and some with a solid foundation in the subject particularly hope to further develop their skills in this field they love. Mathematical Olympiads provide these students with a stage to showcase their mathematical talents. By stepping beyond the traditional framework of purely problem-solving in mathematics and emphasizing its characteristic of being more about thinking, openness, and creativity, it reflects the principles of quality education and has gained increasing attention from math teachers and parents. Many parents have incorporated Mathematical Olympiads into their children's extracurricular learning, and it has indeed yielded positive results. The National Junior High School Mathematics League, the National Junior High School Mathematics Competition, and the "Hope Cup" National Mathematics Invitational are the three most prestigious mathematics competitions for junior high school students. In recent years, these competitions have placed greater emphasis on popularization and the application of mathematical knowledge, with questions becoming more closely aligned with classroom education, focusing on developing students' thinking and enhancing their abilities. For students who love mathematics and enjoy delving into it, with personal effort and proper guidance, it is entirely possible to achieve good results in these competitions. The compilers have collected the historical questions from these three competitions, along with those from the Shanghai Junior High School Mathematics Competition and some questions from other provincial and municipal competitions, categorized them, and provided detailed solutions. Systematically organizing these questions makes it easier for students to study independently. Through analysis and comparison during the problem-solving process, students can more readily identify the patterns for solving similar problems. It is hoped that when using this book, students will not rush to look at the solutions but should first engage in serious independent thinking. After arriving at their own answers, they can then compare them with the book's solutions, thereby further improving their ability to "learn effectively."
