Features: The papers collected in this issue are part of the research achievements published by the members of this research team in academic journals in recent years. Although these papers are only a part of the overall research framework, they basically reflect the main viewpoints and ideas of the research team on the issue of latecomer advantage. The discussion on latecomer advantage is explored in terms of development factors, divided into five parts: capital, labor, technology, institutions, and structure. This is the analytical approach and framework for latecomer advantage. Such an analysis is relatively uncommon in both domestic and international academic circles, and we believe it represents a theoretical innovation. This issue focuses on the study of latecomer advantage, in addition to our own research papers, it also includes some classic literature on latecomer advantage from abroad. Some of these papers have been widely cited by domestic and international scholars, such as the classic works by Gerschenkron and Abramovitz, while others may not be as well-known. However, they are all the results of long-term in-depth research by renowned development economists, and they can provide us with more inspiration and reflection on this issue.
