What are the causes of endometriosis?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. What are the causes of endometriosis?

Doctor's answer:

Endometriosis is generally caused by these factors: neglecting menstrual hygiene. During menstruation, women often experience pelvic congestion and uterine sensitivity. If they are overly emotional or irritable, or engage in intense exercise, especially sexual activity during menstruation, it may increase the likelihood and volume of retrograde menstruation, leading to the development of endometriosis.
An abnormal uterine position can also contribute to endometriosis. If a woman has a congenitally retroverted uterus or develops an abnormal position due to certain factors later in life, it can easily cause menstrual blood to flow improperly, accumulating in the uterine cavity. This reduces pressure within the cavity, making it easier for menstrual blood to flow into the abdominal cavity, which can also trigger endometriosis.
