Can you eat American ginseng after getting uterine polyps?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried it might affect my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Can I take American ginseng if I have uterine polyps? Thank you!

Doctor's answer:

Cervical polyps are caused by the long-term effect of chronic inflammation leading to fibrosis of the cervical mucosa. The uterus has a reverse tendency to expel foreign substances, causing the fibrotic mucosa to gradually form polyps from the basal layer towards the weaker areas of the cervix, resulting in one or more polyps, generally with a diameter of about 1 centimeter, red in color, fragile, and prone to bleeding. Since inflammation is present, polyps are commonly removed, but malignant transformation is rare. Local treatment is the foundation, and routine cervical scraping or biopsy is performed before treatment.
