1. Insufficient kidney yang, leading to cold coagulation of semen. Clinical manifestations: Semen does not liquefy, or liquefies incompletely, with clumps or jelly-like formations; a cool or cold sensation in the scrotum and testicles; soreness in the lower back and knees; aversion to cold and cold limbs. Tongue: pale with thin white coating; pulse: deep and slow, or deep and wiry, or fine and weak. Miscellaneous diseases: Tonify the kidney and yang, dispel cold, and warm and liquefy semen.
2. Deficiency of kidney yang, leading to virtual fire refining semen. Clinical manifestations: Semen does not liquefy, slightly reduced semen volume, yellow and thick in color; increased libido with easy arousal and ejaculation; dizziness and tinnitus; neurasthenia, forgetfulness; dry mouth and dry eyes. Tongue: red with thin yellow coating or little coating; pulse: fine and rapid. Miscellaneous diseases: Nourish yin and clear heat, and liquefy semen.
