Features: This book consists of 10 units. Each unit is divided into three parts: Part 1 is supplementary exercises for Reading Passage A, Part 2 is supplementary exercises for Reading Passage B, and Part 3 is rapid reading training. Part 1 includes the following seven types of exercises: 1. Exercises for New Words; 2. Exercises for Vocabulary Enlargement; 3. Exercises for Prepositions or Adverbs; 4. Exercises for Phrasal Verbs; 5. Exercises for Distinguishing Word Meanings; 6. Exercises for Translation; 7. Exercises for Grammar. Part 2 mainly includes the following five types of exercises: 1. Part 3 includes three short passages of about 250 words each, with five reading comprehension multiple-choice questions following each passage. The content of the passages is related to the textbook of the Reading and Writing Course to increase the repetition rate of the vocabulary contained in the Reading and Writing Course and facilitate students in reviewing and consolidating the knowledge they have learned in the Reading and Writing Course. This textbook is one of the key projects under the "21st Century Revitalization Plan" approved by the State Council and the "New Century Network Course Construction Project" initiated by the Ministry of Education. Professor Zheng Shutang serves as the chief responsible person and chief editor of the textbook. Experts and professors from key universities across the country participated in the writing, with Hu Wenzhong and other domestic and international experts serving as consultants. The textbook is developed with a human-centered approach, focusing on teaching, based on the Outline [Revised Edition], with the reform of teaching methods as the guiding principle, quality as the guarantee, and distinctive features as the path to development. It aims to actively respond to the new challenges brought by the rapid development of higher education and the internationalization of education.
