Patient's question:
It has been found that there is a sense of soreness and fullness in the uterus and abdomen. How should one undergo a thorough examination if they have uterine fibroids?Doctor's answer:
If uterine fibroids do not cause symptoms, they may be detected during routine physical examinations through careful ultrasound examinations, as most uterine fibroids show no symptoms. Uterine fibroids may present with symptoms such as excessive menstrual bleeding, prolonged menstrual periods, urinary frequency and urgency, difficulty urinating, constipation, and lower abdominal pain, which are only discovered during medical examinations. If uterine fibroids do not cause any symptoms and are not pregnant, X-ray plain films of fibroid fibrosis appear as scattered uniform spots or shell-like fibrotic encapsulations with rough edges and wavy honeycomb patterns. If uterine fibroids are symptomatic and exhibit the aforementioned symptoms, surgical treatment is necessary. Additionally, uterine and fallopian tube contrast imaging provides an ideal method for uterine imaging, as it not only reflects the number and size of submucosal fibroids but also allows for precise localization.
