Author: Yu Guangyuan

Publish Date: 2005-06-01
Features: This volume begins after Japan's surrender in 1945 and ends with the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, covering exactly four years. During these four years, there were several phases:
1. Marching from Yan'an to Zhangjiakou.
2. From Zhangjiakou to Beijing to establish the Beijing Liberation newspaper.
3. The newspaper was seized by the reactionary authorities in Beijing, and we were forced to leave the city, returning to Zhangjiakou. We served as "guest scholars" at the Central Committee of the Jin-Cha-Oi Region for about two months.
4. Riding fast horses back to Yan'an and arriving at Qingliang Mountain. We worked at the Liberation Daily in Yan'an. This happened in August 1946.
5. Less than a year later, we left Yan'an to join the Central Committee's land reform work team.
6. In the summer of 1948, we went to the Central Propaganda Department.
7. In 1949, we entered the city and continued working at the Central Propaganda Department until the founding of the People's Republic of China.
This is the last volume of my Chronicles of My Life as an Editor written for the Elephant Publishing House, covering my story after the founding of the PRC. I haven’t planned to write in this style yet, but I have only written one book titled Me During the Cultural Revolution.
