Features: In the early 20th century, a group of intellectuals advocated the concept of "Chinese body, Western use." Xunzi's thought, which shared similarities with Western science and included the idea of "humanity's ability to form groups" close to Western sociological theories, was favored by them. The revival and renewal of Xunzi studies were therefore natural. After the rise of the New Culture Movement, the status of Confucius was fundamentally shaken, and Western social thought surged in. As a heresy of Confucianism, Xunzi studies entered a period of comprehensive development. With the widespread dissemination of Marxism, the dialectical materialist elements in Xunzi's thought were discovered by many Marxist scholars. The research conducted for this purpose further promoted the in-depth study of Xunzi.
