Features: Since athletes participating in basic training are in the period of physical development, their competitive development still has great plasticity and variability. Therefore, the main task during the basic training stage is to develop general athletic abilities targetedly according to the future specialized competitive needs, striving to promote the comprehensive development of athletes' competitive abilities. In the training practice process, how to coordinate training activities with athletes' natural physical development and how to improve the efficiency of basic training to achieve the greatest training benefits are issues that many junior and intermediate coaches are very concerned about. This also indicates that China's basic training practice needs more systematic and scientific training theories as guidance. The series Athlete Basic Training Guide is designed to meet such practical needs, based on the actual situation of junior and intermediate coaches engaged in basic training in China. It primarily elaborates on the theoretical aspects of athletes' basic training from four perspectives: the humanities and social sciences foundation, the principles of human science, athletes' competitive abilities, and basic training methods, as well as the process and formulation of training plans for athletes' basic training. This provides theoretical support for coaches' further studies and training practice, and offers impetus to improve the organizational level and training effectiveness of basic training in China. The writing requirements are to comprehensively reflect the latest research findings in sports training science while striving to present content in an accessible manner, enabling junior and intermediate coaches to apply the knowledge in practice and guide their own sports training. The series consists of four volumes. They are: The Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation of Athlete Basic Training, The Principles of Human Science in Athlete Basic Training, Athlete Competitive Abilities and Basic Training Methods, and The Process and Formulation of Athlete Basic Training Plans and Training Schedules. Each volume is edited by Zhong Bingshu, Xie Minhao, Liu Daqing, and Tian Maijiu, respectively, and involves the participation of a group of young scholars with active thinking and high academic levels. We look forward to and believe that the publication of the series Athlete Basic Training Guide will play a strong promoting role in the basic training of Chinese youth and children athletes. During the writing and publication of this series, we received strong support from relevant parties. We take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to all our friends!
