How to treat mold vaginitis

Patient's question:

Not pregnant, now there is a lot of leukorrhea, vulvar itching, it seems that the mold is coming back. What should I do? Past treatment history and effectiveness: How is mold vaginitis treated?

Doctor's answer:

Candidal vulvovaginitis: Use alkaline solutions such as 2~4% sodium bicarbonate or soapy water to rinse the external genitalia and vagina, altering the vaginal pH to favor the growth of Candida. After rinsing, insert Nystatin tablets or suppositories into the vagina, with a dose of 100,000~200,000 units each time, once nightly, for a course of 10~14 days. Apply 3% miconazole cream to the external genitalia for better results. For persistent cases, oral fluconazole can be taken at 150 mg once daily for three consecutive days. During treatment, sexual intercourse should be avoided, and underwear should be changed daily, washed, and boiled to sterilize. After one course of treatment, a negative Candida test result is required. Subsequent tests should also be negative after each menstrual cycle. Continuous and stable treatment for three courses is necessary to consider the condition cured.
