Liu Hai Nian Collection

Author: Liu Hai-nian
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-05-01
Features: The development of academic endeavors is like the Yangtze River, vast and unending, with waves following waves. It is also like the passing of the torch, with each generation building upon the achievements and experiences of the previous one, making the light ever brighter. Later scholars must understand the work already done by their predecessors and inherit their accomplishments and insights, upon which they can continue to advance. The Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences brings together dozens of senior experts from dozens of disciplines within our institution, each with decades of research experience in their respective fields and having made significant contributions. The published series features representative works selected by each expert from their academic career, now compiled for the first time. This not only showcases their diligent academic journey but also reflects the achievements and developments in various fields of philosophy and social sciences in China over the past few decades, especially since the reform and opening-up. The Liu Hai-nian Collection, except for one article, is selected from works published between 1988 and 2004, primarily focusing on topics such as the rule of law, human rights, and the construction of political civilization. The last five articles are appendices, selected from internal reports written or co-authored by the author.
