Can you get a sexually transmitted disease or AIDS if you only use half a condom?

Patient's question:

I have a girlfriend, but she has a sexually transmitted disease. She is still undergoing treatment, but last night when we were intimate, only half of the condom was used. Will using only half of a condom lead to a sexually transmitted disease or AIDS? It is said that sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS can be transmitted.

Doctor's answer:

If using condoms but not using them throughout the entire process can easily lead to reoccurrence of contact transmission spreading diseases. Simply engaging in intimate contact in this way does not pose a high risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and the incidence of AIDS is also basically non-existent. However, the possibility of contracting STIs during high-risk sexual activity still exists. It is best to adopt a healthy sexual lifestyle and behavior, and avoid excessive exposure to greasy, extremely cold, and spicy foods.
