Is the risk of surgery high?

Patient's question:

Last year in the second half, I moved in with my boyfriend. Last month, we found out that I was pregnant. My boyfriend said that he is under too much financial pressure right now and doesn't want this child. We are planning to get an abortion, but I don't know if the risks of the procedure are high. Are there significant risks associated with an abortion?

Doctor's answer:

There are certain risks associated with surgery. During an artificial abortion procedure, there is a possibility of uterine perforation, artificial abortion syndrome, incomplete miscarriage, missed aspiration, and potentially severe bleeding. If the recovery after surgery is not thorough, it may lead to infections and inflammation. Additionally, there is a risk of cervical and uterine adhesions, which can result in secondary amenorrhea, making it difficult to conceive normally. If pregnancy occurs, it is best to preserve it if possible.
