Features: This series collects the essence of post-classical narrative theory, serving as an indispensable supplement to Western new narrative theories introduced into China over the past two decades. These translations represent different research schools within new narrative theory, offering fresh perspectives, depth, and distinctive features, providing excellent references for expanding thinking and deepening research. It is hoped that in the coming period, more translations and works on new narrative theory will be published. Additionally, it is hoped that when constructing Chinese narrative studies, Western post-classical or postmodern narrative theories can be appropriately referenced. "New narrative theory" refers to the classical or postmodern narrative theories in the West since the 1990s, which reflect, innovate, and surpass structuralist narrative theories. In the past decade or so, translations published domestically have primarily focused on the classical narrative theories by Western scholars from the 1970s to the 1980s, leaving the field of new narrative theory untouched. This series aims to help fill this gap. The first five translations in this series represent the essence of new narrative theory, showcasing its diverse research schools, offering novel perspectives, depth, and distinctive features. This series is a significant supplement and development to the Western classical narrative theories already introduced into China, providing excellent references for expanding thinking and deepening research.
