Features: Before the Xingtai Earthquake, I had been working in the production team there, engaged in the "Four Cleanups" campaign. Bored and restless, I wrote some "Animal Short Sentences" to pass the time, which gradually accumulated into over eighty entries. Some comrades found them amusing, even laughing uncontrollably. I myself found them entertaining and planned to return to Beijing to find a publisher to print a small booklet, complete with interesting illustrations. These eighty-plus "Animal Short Sentences" once weighed heavily on me like a cross. I carried it, then was firmly nailed to it. Finally, it was set down again. These eighty-plus "Animal Short Sentences" have been lost, but friends, both known and unknown, have gathered them back for me. What's amusing is that they included some works similar to mine, which were clearly better than what I wrote, but they were not mine after all. Even though I was reluctant to part with them, I had no choice but to let them go.
