Candida vulvovaginitis, how to treat it?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Considering your condition, candidiasis of the vagina is characterized by vulvar itching, vulvar and vaginal burning pain, increased vaginal discharge with a curd-like appearance, and sometimes accompanied by frequent urination, urinary urgency, and dysuria. During masturbation, pain may occur. During a gynecological examination, it is evident that white membranous substances adhere to the inner side of the labia minora and the vaginal mucosa. After removal, a red and swollen mucosal surface is revealed. In the acute phase, damaged erosions or superficial ulcers may be observed.
It is recommended that you visit a regular hospital for examination. Suppositories containing nystatin should be inserted into the vagina, and clotrimazole cream should be applied to the vulva. It is advisable for both partners to be treated simultaneously. During treatment, sexual activity is strictly prohibited, and new, clean, and sterilized underwear should be worn daily. A follow-up examination should be conducted after the menstrual period.
Only when three consecutive gynecological examinations and microscopic examinations of vaginal secretions show no abnormalities can the condition be considered fully resolved. Targeted treatment should be administered.
