Features:
- Exquisite: Classic selected texts, where "one" serves as "ten";
- Precise: Maximally assists candidates in improving the accuracy of their answers;
- Innovative: Places high emphasis on the new question types introduced in the reading comprehension section of the new exam syllabus.
This book consists of two main parts:
- Part 1 covers the four-choice question type for postgraduate entrance exam reading comprehension;
- Part 2 focuses on the B section of postgraduate entrance exam reading comprehension, including the choice-matching questions that appeared in the 2005 exam and the two optional new question types introduced in the 2006 exam syllabus: the sorting question and the title-content matching question.
In Part 1, the book selects 60 articles, divided into 10 units. The topics and genres of these articles align with the requirements of the postgraduate English exam syllabus for reading comprehension materials, and the question angles and difficulty levels of each article are consistent with the syllabus guidelines. Each article is accompanied by a full-text translation, section-by-section introduction, in-depth analysis and translation of complex sentences, and detailed answer explanations. This helps candidates fully and thoroughly understand the articles, truly grasping the question-setting logic and trends of postgraduate English reading comprehension.
In the answer explanation section, considering the blind spots and weak areas of most candidates when tackling reading comprehension, the book provides comprehensive analysis and explanation for each question from multiple perspectives. This enables candidates to truly master the answering techniques and methods, fully grasp the direction and depth of reading comprehension questions, and achieve a clear understanding of both their strengths and weaknesses.
In Part 2, 20 articles are selected, with their topics, genres, question angles, and difficulty levels all meeting the requirements of the postgraduate English exam syllabus for the new question types in Section B. The "sorting question" mentioned in the 2006 exam syllabus involves rearranging the order of 7 to 8 paragraphs of an article, providing 2 to 3 correct positions among them, and requiring candidates to arrange the remaining paragraphs in the correct sequence. The "title-content matching question" asks candidates to match five given titles or paragraphs with their corresponding segments within a limited time. Both of these new question types, along with the previously introduced "choice-matching question" from the 2005 exam, are optional question types for Section B in the 2006 exam syllabus and may appear in the exam.
The newly compiled question types in this book are currently rare and valuable supplementary materials for exam preparation.
