Features: Principles of Environmental Engineering is a national-level textbook for "The 15th Five-Year Plan" in ordinary higher education institutions. It is the first textbook in China to transcend the boundaries of pollution media and systematically introduce the fundamental theories and engineering principles of environmental purification and pollution control. The textbook aims to refine common phenomena and processes involved in water treatment engineering, atmospheric pollution control engineering, solid waste treatment and disposal engineering, physical pollution control engineering, ecological restoration engineering, and other related fields. It systematically and deeply elaborates on their basic principles from a theoretical perspective, laying a solid foundation for subsequent specialized courses. The main content includes three parts: Fundamentals of Principles of Environmental Engineering, Principles of Separation Processes, and Principles of Reaction Engineering. The Fundamentals of Principles of Environmental Engineering primarily covers unit and dimensional analysis, the principles of material and energy conservation, and transport processes. The Principles of Separation Processes primarily covers the fundamental principles of sedimentation, filtration, absorption, and adsorption. The Principles of Reaction Engineering discusses chemical and biological reaction stoichiometry, kinetics, and various types of reactors commonly used in the environmental field along with their analytical theories. This textbook is suitable for undergraduate students in environmental engineering, environmental science, water supply and drainage, and other related majors. It can also serve as a teaching reference for graduate students. This book mainly introduces the fundamentals of principles of environmental engineering, principles of separation processes, and principles of reaction engineering.
