Features: Aesop is a legendary figure, and it is inferred that he lived in the first half of the 6th century BC. It is said that he was originally a slave but was freed due to his outstanding intelligence. He traveled throughout various parts of Greece at that time, telling fables to people. Later, people compiled the earliest Aesop's Fables based on the fables he left behind and added some long-standing folk tales. Some of the stories in it originated during Aesop's time, while others were clearly much later. Initially, most fables were passed down orally, and later, after being continuously enriched and refined by many people, they were recorded, developing into a distinctive literary genre. Although Aesop's Fables is short in length, it is the crystallization of people's life wisdom. It uses anthropomorphic techniques with animals as the main characters to vividly reflect various aspects of people's lives, and through the philosophy behind the stories, it provides profound insights. Some of these stories teach people to be kind, upright, hardworking, and honest; some advise against pride and greed; and some praise the freedom and beauty of life, and so on. The fairy tales selected in this book are all classic stories from Aesop's Fables, including famous works such as The Tortoise and the Hare, The Fox and the Grapes, The Wolf Is Coming, and The Wolf and the Lamb. We sincerely hope that every young reader can gain profound life wisdom from these fables.
