External treatment methods are an important component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and originate from the folk traditions, with a history of over 2,000 years. Medical practice has shown that external treatment methods are not only simple to learn, easy to use, and have low medication costs, but also have definite efficacy and fewer side effects, making them highly favored and widely used by the public. They are worth further exploration, organization, and popularization. China has a rich history of famous ancient and modern physicians, with abundant medical classics, case studies, medical discussions, and empirical formulas on external treatment methods. However, these resources are currently scattered and disorganized. To better promote and apply TCM external treatment methods, we have combined clinical practices and collected, processed, and organized relevant materials to compile this book. The content of this book includes three parts: General Introduction, Detailed Sections, and Typical Cases. The General Introduction briefly introduces the theoretical basis, application principles, and treatment methods of external treatment methods. The Detailed Sections cover the theory, methods, formulas, and medications for common clinical diseases and conditions, including approximately 100 diseases and syndromes and over 1,000 empirical formulas.
