Features: "The Analects" encompass the entirety of important content in ethics and political science. The author of this book has discovered that the classical Chinese culture possesses a completely different aspect than any previous commentators had noted. Through a novel exploration of the text, language, and logical thought of "The Analects" as three interconnected cultural levels, this book not only convincingly reveals the great personality and great thoughts of Confucius to people but also clearly paints for them the overall social and historical landscape of China at that time that compelled Confucius and his disciples to speak, think, and act in this manner. Therefore, this book is not only a work on ancient Chinese textual studies, linguistic studies, philosophical studies, and historical studies but is indeed also a work on ancient Chinese cultural studies.
