Features: This collection is organized around the themes of "Knowledge" and "Gnosticism," complementing the translated and published Chinese version of the "Gnostic Scriptures" by the author. It aims to enable the Chinese academic community to engage with this significant topic in the history of Western thought and serves as the beginning of renaming "Gnosticism" from "Gnosticism." The first two essays are on the definitions of "Gnosticism" and "Gnostic." Professor Rudolf is a renowned German scholar of Gnosticism, and his work "Gnosticism: The Nature and History of a Late Ancient Religion" is a classic in the study of Gnosticism. The translation here is of an article he wrote in the 1990s, which succinctly outlines the concept of the Gnostic principle. Perkins is one of the experts involved in editing the "Nag Hammadi Scriptures." His essay discusses new developments in a major challenge of Gnostic studies (the origins of Gnosticism). The subsequent essays all address the relationship between Gnosticism and modernity.
