Features: Dear teachers and students, the "New Standard English Readers for Primary and Secondary Schools" jointly published by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and Macmillan Education UK have finally been launched. Not only are they rich in content and interesting, opening a window to British and American culture, but they are also a helpful companion on the journey of learning English. These readers are divided into 4 levels based on difficulty: Beginner Level, Elementary Level, Intermediate Level, and Upper Level. The content includes standalone novels and other works, all selected from original novels, adapted classic literature, or popular science reading materials, covering topics of interest or passion for primary and secondary school students. The series provides annotations on vocabulary, grammar, and language difficulty according to different levels, enabling students to read English works at varying language proficiency levels. Each book is accompanied by self-assessment exercises to guide and assist students in reading, or can be used by teachers to organize and guide systematic reading activities. We sincerely hope that the "New Standard English Readers for Primary and Secondary Schools" can become a valuable tool for teachers in English teaching, and we wish that these readers can enrich students' experiences, broaden their horizons, and bridge the gap between them and the English language and culture.
