Treasure House of World Literary Masterpieces -- Strange Stories Collection (Youth Edition)

Author: Edgar Allan Poe Fang Jun
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-05-01
Features: The commonality of the stories in this collection is excellently hinted at in the titles, with "strange" and "weird" being the desired effect of these twenty-four short stories. However, if I were to say that I have an unbridled, even bizarre, fondness for such writing, I cannot agree with that inference. The reason I mention this is because the "strangeness" in these completely serious stories has already drawn criticism from a couple of critics. For one or two works that were purely born from the of the mind, I do not expect to receive serious attention or favorable reviews. But I do not believe that the other works are arbitrary or worthless just because they were achieved effortlessly. If I have violated any seemingly unbreakable rules, it must have been intentional. Fairly speaking, the twenty-four short stories included here are mostly well-thought-out, meticulously crafted, and the result of my bold attempts.
