Chinese Economic Geography (Fifth Edition)

Author: Hu Xin
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-01-01
Features: The revision of China's Economic Geography has been ongoing. Since the fourth edition was published in 2001, there have been numerous new changes in macroeconomic layout, urban development, and urban processes, as well as major infrastructure construction and distribution that need to be reflected in a timely manner. Additionally, systematic data also requires updating. For this reason, the fifth edition of this book has undergone significant revisions and additions in most chapters. Compared to the fourth edition, the fifth edition also has one more difference: it analyzes some past mistakes in China's economic development and layout, as well as various issues in urban development and urbanization processes, using examples. The author works for the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China, and naturally pays more attention to urban development, urbanization processes, and changes in urban layout. This is fully reflected in Chapters 7 and 10–16 of the book, which cover urban economy and urban layout.
