Features: The writing style of "Breaking Free from the Nightmare" is also very unique. The author adopts a cinematic montage technique, using two parallel threads to unfold the plot. The story takes place in Vienna in 1994, revolving around the protagonist Faber and his granddaughter Golan, who accompany their grandmother Mia in treating his liver disease. Faber's intermittent memories and recollections of past experiences form the darker thread of the narrative, depicting events such as the assassination in Sarajevo in 1914, the human tragedy caused by Nazi fascism during World War II, Faber and Mia's romantic love in peaceful Yugoslavia in 1953, the large-scale civil war in the former Yugoslav region in the 1990s, and the rise of neo-Nazi forces. These descriptions expand and enrich the content of the work, enhancing its readability. In terms of structure, although the novel is complex in content, it is logically rigorous, well-organized, and features a thrilling, captivating plot. The author Faber wrote numerous articles exposing Nazi atrocities based on his personal experiences. After the death of his beloved wife, he fell into a deep depression, lost his creative inspiration, and was consumed by despair. At that moment, he received astonishing news: his first love from over forty years ago, Mia, was pregnant and later gave birth to a daughter. Meanwhile, his granddaughter Golan was critically ill with liver disease in Vienna. After much hesitation, Faber finally overcame himself and flew to Vienna, extending a helping hand to Golan. The Nazis who harbored resentment towards him also tracked him down. Faber helped Golan overcome his illness, but he himself could not escape the persecution of the Nazis.
