How is candidiasis considered cured?

Patient's question:

I have had a white discharge with a lot of white pus for about one or two months. I have seen many doctors, but it hasn't improved. I previously had a positive Mycoplasma test, but after a thorough examination, it is now negative. However, there is a positive mold test, positive white blood cells, and cervical fluid score of 3. How can I be cured!

Doctor's answer:

The commonly used treatment is a solution of sodium bicarbonate for cleaning the vulva and vagina, followed by local application of antifungal medications such as miconazole tablets. In recent years, recurrent infections have been triggered due to incomplete treatment or deep tissue infections in the vagina. For recurrent vaginitis, oral medications are highly effective in prevention. Commonly used antifungal oral medications include fluconazole and itraconazole capsules, taken every 2-4 weeks for a duration of 3-6 months, which can completely control symptoms. Monthly premenstrual reexaminations are recommended, with three consecutive negative results indicating recovery. During treatment, sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited, and both partners should be treated simultaneously.
